While the ‘Fireside’ version of Mistletoe, the track preceding this on the Independent Christmas Playlist, is a stripped back and intimate affair, we move on to the altogether more bombastic The Mistletoe and Me.
This track (almost literally) has all the bells and whistles, and carries undeniably ‘classic’ feel to it. For those of you who prefer Yuletide material of a certain vintage (with Stop The Cavalry, and Wonderful Christmas Time as reference points), this is joy to listen to, and the perfect song to bop along to around the tree to shake the cobwebs on Christmas morning!
