Bringing Country to the Masses – Chris Sims releases Wild Sunsets

Country is an incredibly polarising genre. With warring masses, comprised of one half that would die for the cause, and another half that would gladly see that happen, Country has become the Marmite of music.

But leading the crusade to bring it to the mainstream in the UK is Chris Sims, and Wild Sunsets is the latest weapon in his arsenal.

Under the watchful eye of sensational producer, Cameron Sanderson, Sims has managed to take the trademarks of country and twin them with influences that are, dare I say it, fashionable. Twangling banjos and warm acoustic guitars are juxtaposed brilliantly with modern vocal loops, on a song that is beautifully bouncy but with a poignant edge of running from a love that hasn’t quite worked out as planned. Sims originally wrote the song during his school years – and the years of emotion, focus, and craft are immensely evident in the final product that has been released.

The second single from a four song EP, set for release on the 20th of November, Wild Sunsets is a joy to listen to. You can catch it on your platform of choice by clicking here.
