The Peace Lilies, an Indie Folk duo from St. Albans in Hertfordshire, have a proven track record of stunning releases which combine dazzling harmonies with picturesque lyrics and a beautifully laissez-faire feel, and their new offering, Our Sanctuary, is no different.
Almost Simon-and-Garfunkel-esque with the beautifully twinned vocal lines, and with an earthy and expressive composition and sound, Our Sanctuary is a wonderful ode to the beauty that’s around us, and a reminder to make the most of the world that’s around us while we still have it.
In some ways ways, keeping a “Positive Mental Attitude” has been the key to making it through the seemingly endless cycle of lockdowns, and if you’ve been struggling to find it, I defy you to play this track whilst on a crisp morning walk and ignore the smile that that radiates across your face as a result.
