Throughout the 70s, Elizabeth King provided her voice on an array of studio recorded hymns and D-Vine spirituals. Like many of her contemporaries, there was an important message to her music. One that makes a statement and calls us all toward our better selves.
After a 45 year hiatus she has returned – perhaps when we need her most. The message behind the music remains as prominent as ever – one could argue even more so today than before. Her upcoming album Living in the Last Days is preceded by a single bearing the same name, and sets out to carry a message straight to the hearts of its listeners. With decades of observing the world change, alongside her home country’s deterioration of Christian values, King makes commentary on this song at the very peak of her sway, and shows that she still has the talent and skills of interpretation to match even the best.
