The Independent Christmas Playlist: Ashley Stacey – Will The Presents Be Under The Tree?

Ashley Stacey is a fine young artist from the South East of London. Ashley is a firm favourite in the playlist sharing community. This Christmas song, for me, has a feel of John Lennon about it.

Patrick Rowles – Creator of the Independent Christmas Playlist

If you (like all of us at TempoTempo HQ, it must be said!) aren’t quite sure if you’re in the Christmas spirit just yet, Track 8 on the playlist, Will The Presents Be Under The Tree? will not only resonate with you, but will craftily and gently coax you in the right direction.

With a wonderful catchy melody, and a vocal that’s beautifully light, we found a smile slowly creeping across our face as we listened to this. If there’s one Christmas wish we could have made for this song, it would have been for a bit more percussion to bring the final chorus to life a little more – but even without it: the sentiment of the song sounds loud and proud. Christmas isn’t about the trinkets under the tree – it’s about things you see in eachother.

You can listen to Will The Presents Be Under The Tree? on the Independent Christmas Playlist, which has been lovingly compiled by Patrick Rowles. Read more about the Independent Christmas Playlist here!
