Hunter Falls – All I Never Wanted

The day of love is fast approaching, and for many the run-up is a time of harsh introspection towards the relationships we held dear in the past, and Hunter Falls has released a brilliant aid to do so with All I Never Wanted.

With a beautifully scant quality to the production on this track, which contributes to its soul-baring nature, All I Never Wanted is all about exposing the truth – albeit in hindsight – but in the most vulnerable way possible. The Belgian-British songwriter manages to tug on the heartstrings all the way through this number, which marries musical contributions from R&B, Soul, and Pop all into one vivid package, and seals the deal with a gloriously catchy chorus that delivers the sucker-punch of the sentiment at heart. Despite being largely vocally led, there are some gorgeous and delightfully sticky riffs that go on in the background throughout, and definitely require repeated listening to be fully appreciated.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the fantastic build at the end of the song, where a cascading chorus of backing singers collectively took our breath away – and definitely deliver on Hunter’s mission to explore the depths of the head and the heart.
