Delivering a reflective, slow burn of a follow-up single yesterday through Fed By Music, indie rock outfit Poala House dismiss any notion of a sophomore slump.
With more of a candid intention than debut single Sticking Around, the foundations of Searching for You are rooted in an individual’s struggle with overcoming addiction; the ‘search’ alluding to the restlessness that addiction brings. Its narrative perfectly encapsulates the perspective of an inebriated mind, and meditates on how the user feels they are “falling away”. The song ends with the painful refrain “I’ll keep searching for you”, which highlights the seemingly never-ending cycle of self-destructive habits.
