A technique crafted in dance clubs across Germany, David Bay flexes his remix-muscles and demonstrates disco expertise on a reworking of Manganas Garden’s funk inspired Liquid Dreams. He turns the feel-good dial up so many notches, we’re left with a banger that could overhaul even the greyest of days.
The remix dropped today as a collaboration with Outside the Disco, who describe themselves as a ‘German Club Collective’. I’m unsure what that means – whether they’re a label, a group of musicians or public relations, but everything I’ve heard from them thus far has been stellar, with this little nugget being no exception.
Bay injects his cool, galactic vibe into the track, conjuring lavish and heart-warming moods. Glowing synths fuse with low slung beats and dreamy top lines, all over groovy basslines. This palette of sound really compliments the cheerful take on future funk provided by Manganas Garden. It’s a match made in disco heaven; together they radiate with effortless charm.
