The Naked Eye’s new single Letting Go comes from her latest EP New Eyes, written against the backdrop of lockdown in 2020. But with her no-days-off approach, her output remains consistent.
She is often working with other people, contributing to the Her Songs project, as well as collaborating with Femi Temowo, Moo Latte and Ruby Wood to name a few. On Letting Go, we have guest appearances from the hotly tipped Alice Auer and Conor Albert, who help to provide some sublime, jazzy tones to this neo-soul number.
Distinctive subtlety is evidently present in The Naked Eye’s music. The vocals are well-suited to deliver on this track, with an intimacy and directness of communication. A one-on-one type of performance with the ability to put the listener in the room. The arrangement is complete with ultra-smooth jazz progressions settled under plucked acoustic guitars and intimate vocal harmonies.
New Eyes EP is available now on all streaming services and for download on Bandcamp.
